When hubby had his first heart attack he quit smoking in the hospital, I smoked too but didn't want to quit, enjoyed smoking etc. but knew that if I didn't quit he would go back to smoking. After some research I discovered mixing dried Plantain (1 part) with dried Mullein (2 parts) and smoking this instead. It was the most amazing thing I have experienced in the herbal world! After smoking one of this herbal mixture (roll your own/pipe doesn't matter) I realized after 8 hours I hadn't even thought about a cigarette! I went from 2 packs a day to 2 plantain smokes a day instantly. IIRC I only used the plantain smokes for about 2 weeks before I was done completely. The Plantain is the active ingredient, the Mullein smokes smoothly and is good for the lungs. This stuff weighs next to nothing so a small bag will last for you and several friends! I cannot say enough about this herb. I had no withdrawals, didn't yell at my kid, didn't eat my way through the refrigerator, or any of the other problems I had in previous attempts at quitting. It doesn't take care of the 'what to do with your hands' thang, but it really wasn't all that noticeable either. Toss the patch and the prescription pills and let mother nature help you out! Just keep the mixture with an apple slice or mist it lightly with water to keep it from being too dry causing it to be too harsh much like re-lighting half a smoke the next morning. I had quit a few times before but after several months went back due to stress. Not so this time - seven years and counting even though I feel like I've been to Hades and back again a few times.

Pros:
Works immediately, non-addictive, non-brain-altering etc. It simply removes the physical urge to smoke. Amazing stuff!
Cons:
Must order items separately and mix your own. The dried Plantain can be hard to find as most of its' uses require it to be fresh/tinctures etc. to preserve properties. Smells funny, I would suggest not smoking it inside or in your favorite coat lest someone think you're smoking you shouldn't be! ;-) |
