Hawthorne tincture is stronger and faster acting than the encapsulated form (true of most, if not all, tincture vs pill) It acts to strengthen the heart itself. It is effective enough our cardiologist suggested we return to using it once we have a couple of other meds balanced (which are designed to keep blood pressure lower than normal). A great source of antioxidants and natural bioflavonoids. Is rumored to break down cholesterol/fat deposits in the body (Haven't had the chance to confirm this but it is a common claim) We purchase the Simpler's brand through our local co-op but other brands are available on-line. However, we've had hard frosts here and are heading out to harvest berries and try making our own!
