I have battled with a sluggish thyroid for years. Based on all I know this product 'should' work wonders. Maybe it will for others, but it didn't for me. I took it for almost a month and didn't notice a difference. However, I also wasn't great at following all the rules and was highly stressed at the time so a re-trial 'might' be in order. In absence of success stories from others, perhaps it's best to pass this one by. I found kelp, by itself, taken each morning offered more relief than Thyro-Plus. As with all thyroid hormones: 1) take them on an empty stomach, at least one hour before eating breakfast. Avoid fiber at breakfast. 2) DO NOT take it at the same time as calcium or soy products. The calcium or soy will interfere with absorption of the hormone, as will lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) and Bugleweed (Lycopus virginicus, Lycopus europaeus) While low iron levels can play a role in low thyroid levels, iron can also interfere with the body's ability to absorb the hormones. Please take them as far apart as possible.

WAY too many rules to follow with plenty of interactions to keep in mind. I found it difficult to make the changes required and still feel like I was living a 'normal' life. High fiber is part of the diet I need to be on but it interferes with this product. |
